Australian Pool Fence Laws

In Australia, the benchmark for Pool Fence Regulations are Australian Standard AS 1926.1-2012 Safety Barriers for Swimming Pools, however Pool Fencing Standards, Codes and Regulations vary from state to state.

Before purchasing your new fencing product from Oxworks, we recommend you visit your local government regulation websites to ensure you are getting exactly what you require and what will comply with your relative local and State Government Building Standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely – we offer a range of premium soft close hinges ensuring no more slamming pool gates or little trapped fingers in closing gates.

12mm glass is the bench mark for frameless glass pool fencing to be certified by a pool fencing certifier.

This depends – If your spigots are greater than 1250mm from pool coping edge then no you don’t. If they are within 1250mm, we recommend any stainless-steel spigot (base plated or core drilled) be earthed. On install our installers can arrange the running of the earth wire to a specific point, but you will need to engage a qualified electrician to carry out the earthing procedure. A great alternative solution is to use our range of Australian Made, UV Stabilise Composite Spigots. These look great, come in a range of colour finishes and allow you to avoid having to worry about earthing your spigots at all.

Yes – Your pool fencing must be complete and certified before you can fill your pool and start enjoying your investment. Temporary fencing can be used while your pool fencing is being installed.

Yes we can. We have 39 standard panel sizes, 15 stocked retaining wall panel sizes and 38 Hinge panels & gate sizes all In Stock, however some jobs do require custom glass which we source from one Australia’s biggest glass manufacturers – G-James Glass

Yes – We can give you an estimate of the project cost off a plan, however final costings would be subject to a site visit to ensure your pool fence project goes off without a hitch.

All glass orders are packaged securely on pallets or in crates with each piece of glass in its own cardboard box with added corner protection to ensure safe delivery. We specialise in large project orders and can offer container delivery within Australia and overseas.

Our standard Magna Latch + Hinge Pack requires 30mm allowance for your pool gate (approx. 15mm either side). Therefore, the distance between your posts should be 1000mm.

Yes – Oxworks offers safe & reliable delivery for all of our products Australia wide. For customers in regional areas, we generally deliver (Via a third party delivery service like Toll/Phoenix) to your local depot where you can pick up your goods directly. We specialise in large project orders and can offer container delivery within Australia and overseas.

Yes – Extra structural support (noggins) will be needed to ensure the deck is suitable for installing glass pool fencing onto. Ask your installer on site to see what may be required. Glass fencing installed on timber decks may experience slight movement as timber does swell/contract under environmental stresses. This is why we recommend where possible to install your glass pool fence directly onto a concrete slab/footing.

Yes – our pool fencing installers install your job to Australian Standards, ready for certification. You (or your builder/pool builder) will need to engage your own independent pool safety certifier to arrange pool safety certification of your fence. All of our pool fencing is independently NATA tested to fully comply with Australian Standards AS2208:1996 (Safety Glazing Materials in Buildings) and AS1926.1:2012 Australian Pool Fencing Standards. We can supply a Form-15 on request to accompany any glass order
