Why do I need to use 12mm glass for frameless glass pool fencing?
12mm glass is the bench mark for frameless glass pool fencing to be certified by a pool fencing certifier.
Do I need to have my spigots earthed?
This depends – If your spigots are greater than 1250mm from pool coping edge then no you don’t. If they are within 1250mm, we recommend any stainless-steel spigot (base plated or core drilled) be earthed. On install our installers can arrange the running of the earth wire to a specific point, but you will need to engage a qualified electrician to carry out the earthing procedure.
A great alternative solution is to use our range of Australian Made, UV Stabilise Composite Spigots. These look great, come in a range of colour finishes and allow you to avoid having to worry about earthing your spigots at all.

What happens if a glass panel breaks?
It is very rare, however sometimes glass can break. Toughened glass is the safest of all types of glass. It’s designed to shatter into small pieces when it breaks which cuts down on the possibility of serious injury. If
any of our glass panels or gates break on site, Oxworks will replace glass at no cost.

Can you install glass pool fencing on a timber deck?
Yes – Extra structural support (noggins) will be needed to ensure the deck is suitable for installing glass pool fencing onto. Ask your installer on site to see what may be required.
Glass fencing installed on timber decks may experience slight movement as timber does swell/contract under environmental stresses. This is why we recommend where possible to install your glass pool fence directly onto a concrete slab/footing.
How long will the installation take?
It depends on each site, but most glass pool fencing installations should take 1-2 days, however larger jobs or jobs requiring custom glass measured on site will usually require additional time
