Laser Cut Screens

Decorative Laser Cut Screens offer state of the art fully customised elegance to your home.

Oxworks are experts in the design and manufacture of high quality laser cut screens. Our architecturally designed screens can be used in both domestic and commercial works for a huge range of applications including privacy screening, architectural fascias, entry gates, decorative screening plus much more.

Material and finish options include weathered steel and powder coated aluminum for external installations and painted timber for internal/protected situations.

We have many standard designs to choose from or if you want to add some real ‘personal design’ to your project, simply show us a sketch or give us a theme and we’ll help you bring ‘your’ idea to life.

PLEASE NOTE: Most designs can be customised to different screen sizes and shapes. The designs shown below are based on a ratio of 1:2 (i.e. 900 x 1800mm or 600 x 1200mm etc.) so screen designs outside of this ratio may vary slightly to suit.

Powder Coated Aluminium

Our Aluminium Screens are made from lightweight, tough, rust free aluminium with a powder coated finish.  You can choose your colour from our Interpon Colour Chart.  The panels are 3mm thick and can be supplied in sizes up to 2400mm x 1200mm.  The screens are suitable for indoor and outdoor use with a variety of applications.

Our Screens are easy to install and designed for both trade and DIY projects.  As the screens are made from powder coated aluminium, they require very little ongoing maintenance.

When installing the screens, we recommend fixing points at approximately 600mm spacing around the perimeter or the screen.  This will help reduce flex across the panel. We take extreme pride in our work and as such all our powder coated screens have had the edges dressed.

Weathering Steel (Corten)

Corten Steel is a high strength weathering steel which forms a stable, attractive rust-like appearance when exposed to weather.  The steel is 3mm thick and can be supplied in panels up to 2400mm x 1200mm.  The screens are suitable for indoor and outdoor use with a variety of applications.

Our Decorative Screens are easy to install and designed for both trade and DIY projects.  Unlike most metals, Corten or weathering steel is designed to form a rust patina when exposed to the elements.  A layer of rust forms on the outer surface and acts as a protective coating.  The colour and extent of the rust effect depends on the elements it is exposed to, and will vary from panel to panel.  Concrete, stone and unglazed brick may suffer from oxide staining when in contact with weathering steel. Connections to dissimilar materials, such as zinc or cadmium plated bolts, should be avoided.

When installing the screens, we recommend fixing points at approximately 600mm spacing around the perimeter or the screen.  This will help reduce flex across the panel.

If it is in an area where it can be brushed against it may leave rust marks on clothing. Corten is corrosion resistant and will last a lot longer than mild steel.

Reconstituted Hardwood (Weathertex)

Our Hardwood Screens are made from premium quality manufactured timber using 100% Australian plantation hardwood.  The timber is 9mm thick and panels can be supplied in sizes up to 2400mm x 1200mm.  The screens are suitable for indoor and outdoor use with a variety of applications.

Our Weathertex Screens are easy to install and designed for both trade and DIY projects.  As the Screens are made from 100% Australian plantation hardwood, and because they are a natural product, care is needed to ensure they are properly maintained.  Screens should be finished with at least 2 coats of a quality exterior timber oil.  There is likely to be some variation in colour and texture, with natural imperfections and individual markings which enhance the overall appeal and uniqueness.

One side of the screen has a finer, smoother finish and this should be installed as the face side.  The product will weather or grey like natural timber, and natural tannins may leach colour, particularly in the first 6 months.  Screens can be easily rejuvenated with another coat of oil, in the same manner as a timber deck.

When installing the screens, we recommend fixing points at approximately 600mm spacing around the perimeter or the screen.  This will help reduce flex across the panel.
